Time to replace the brakes on the 'rango - Fan of @SummitRacing

So the rotors on the Durango have been chattering and causing pedal / wheel chatter when applied, so they are not operating at optimal efficiency. This is the second set of rotors for the truck since we've owned it.

A while ago, I purchased some slotted/drilled rotors from Summit Racing for the Dakota and they are working really well, no chatter, no fading, gobs of stopping power; so I decided to order the same thing from Summit Racing again.

New GoPro Camera Videos

I recently picked up a GoPro video camera, so I'm going to be putting up some new videos on YouTube...

Here are a couple of videos I shot when driving home on Wednesday

What an amazing ride yesterday

My Motorcycle

On Thursday, I took my motorcycle to the shop to get a new battery and brakes. I also needed new tires so I got those as well as a battery tender. Since this is my 3rd battery for this bike.

I didn't go anywhere on Friday or Saturday, so the first opportunity that I had to go for a ride was Sunday. I couldn't find my ear plugs, so the first stop was to Rite-Aid. From there I decided to just, "go". I packed the camera for when I stop or see something worth photographing.

Bike is Getting Fixed again

So I took my bike to the shop this morning rather than just buying a new battery so I can get my brakes looked at as well as to make sure the KIPASS system is still ok. While there it was pointed out that both my tires are at a point where they should be replaced.

So here's the things that are being replaced right now.

  • new Bridgestone Battleaxe BT-023 tires
  • Yuasa Battery
  • OEM Break Pads

I'm also having the dongle installed from a new Battery Tender, that was $39.00.

Motorcycle Battery woes

This weekend I went into my garage and checked the battery on my motorcycle, knowing that it would be low because I have not ridden it in a while. Several reasons that I haven't ridden include the fact that the office at work is STILL being renovated, the weather has been very wet here in Northern California and I don't have anyone close by to ride with.

So when I go in there, I press the key in, and turn the ignition on, flip through the dash computer to the battery status page and note that the batter is sitting at about 8.4v.

Rode to Portland and Back

So on Friday, after work I decided to go for a ride up to Portland to visit a friend on his 30th birthday and surprise him. I spent 10 hours on the bike leaving at 3:20PM Friday after work. Then on Sunday I turned around and made the same trip back. Wow that was a long time to be on a bike. 1350 miles, and 20 hours in 3 days. I think that officially qualifies as IronButt

I finally got a new bike. A couple weeks ago I was in an accident, and the insurance company totaled my bike. Now I have a new one. I am really digging this new ride. I have about 55 miles on it so far.
